Today wasnāt about burning boards or sanding epoxy smooth.

It was about courage.
We were walking by the water when Hercules did what he always does ā he stepped right in. Calm. Confident. No hesitation.
Another dog stood at the edge watching him. Interested⦠but unsure.
The owner smiled and said,
āHe never likes to be near water.ā
Herc swam out a little further.
Turned slightly.
Almost as if to say, āItās okay.ā
And then it happened.
The dog stepped in.
Then waded deeper.
Then fully committed.

The owner was stunned.
Sometimes leadership isnāt loud.
Itās quiet example.
Herc didnāt bark.
He didnāt nudge.
He didnāt force.
He simply showed what was possible.
And that hit me.
Whether itās learning Shou Sugi Ban, attempting my third epoxy coat, or starting something new in retirement ā sometimes all it takes is stepping in first.
You never know who youāre giving courage to.
