Beginning Again, With Gratitude

It’s been a while since I last wrote here — almost three years.

Life slowed me down in ways I didn’t expect. Health challenges, recovery, and time forced me to pause and rethink what progress really means. What I’ve learned is that slowing down doesn’t mean life stops — it just asks you to move with more intention.

Most mornings now begin with a quiet prayer of gratitude, thanking God for the chance to retire, to recover, and to begin again.

Hercules reminding me to slow down and the moment

This chapter of my life is about staying present and engaged in simple, meaningful ways: spending time outside with Hercules, learning to work with my hands, paying attention to my health, and keeping my curiosity alive.

My first attempt at epoxy. Not perfect, but a start.
One of my first finished woodworking projects — small, but meaningful.

I’m not here to teach or give advice.
This is simply a personal journal — a record of small wins, lessons learned, and steady forward motion.

More to come.
